A 42-year-old woman has found herself in the grips of police for allegedly faking a pregnancy which Immigration officials suspected to be India hemp.
The woman identified as Mavis Adubea is said to be a business woman who does her trade in Takoradi.
According to Immigration officials, the woman arrived at Asikuma checkpoint portraying herself as a pregnant woman.

Officials suspected the pregnancy to be fake and requested a body search, it emerged the pregnancy was rather a concealment of three slabs of the Indian hemp.
Mavis Adubea has been handed over police at Ho in the Volta Region for further investigation.
The Deputy commissioner of Immigration in charge of Volta Region applauded the officials for their good work and warned persons engaged in such acts to desist from it.
