AFCON 2019: Ghanaians React To Ghana’s Disappointing Draw Against Benin


Ghanaians have expressed their disappointment at the Black Stars after they struggled to win against Benin in their opening campaign of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Senior National team were held 2-2 draw by Benin in Ismailia on Tuesday.

In the early minutes of the game,Kwesi Appiah’s men were stunned when Benin’s Mickael Pote’ netted the first goal.

Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew equalized just a few minutes after Benin took the lead.

Ghana scored a second goal courtesy Jordan Ayew before first half.

Black Stars woes started when John Boye was shown a second yellow for time wasting just a few minutes into the second half.

The Benin Nation team took the numerical advantage to equalize making the scoreline 2-2.

Ghanaians have taken to the internet to express their displeasure at the Black Stars failing to win against Benin.

Some section of football fans blamed John Boye for failing the team after he was red carded.

Others also blamed coach Kwesi Appiah for his player selection as some could not fathom why he left Kwadwo Asamoah and Asamoah Gyan on the bench.

Some players like Dede Ayew, Jordan Ayew, and Thomas Partey were eulogized for their stunning performance in the game.
