A video circulating on the internet indicates that Rapper Edem predicted a similar incident like what happened between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale at the just held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) would happen if measures are not put in place.
Edem in an interview on Accra-based radio station, Hitz FM November last year revealed that some artists carry registered guns to shows in order to protect themselves in case anything happens.
Edem added that artists carry guns at events because of the engagement of ‘beefs’ in the music industry and that such actions have the tendency to fuel up violence in the music industry.
The veteran rapper in the interview advised colleague artistes to avoid unnecessary ‘beefs ‘ or feuds whether planned or not.
“Now when we go to shows, musicians are strapped with guns. At least a team member has a licensed gun. We shouldn’t wait for something bad to happen before we discourage it. I don’t encourage that because I want to be brothers with everyone,” He said.
However, as predicted by Edem, there was a clash between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy which led to the latter pulling out a gun to protect himself.
