Female Artists Can Never Compete With Male Artists– Lamisi

Ghanaian singer Regina Awiniman Lamisi Anabilla Akuka who is better known as  Lamisi has stated emphatically that female musicians in Ghana can never compete with their male counterparts.

According to Lamisi, the adage that says ‘What men can do, women can do it better’ is fictitious in the music industry as female artists in Ghana cannot be like male artists.

Emphasizing on her assertion, the songstress disclosed that female artists cannot endure the conditions male artists face on daily basis in their music career.

She further indicated that there are certain situations that men can survive which women can never sail through.

“… The situation men can go through as artists, a female artist may not be able to stand that and she might give up”. Lamisi disclosed in an interview on Class FM on Tuesday 29th january,2019 which was monitored by browngh.com

“I won’t say my gender is not helping me, no, I think if you are a female artiste and you look beyond that setback and limitations and you still strive, you even stand a better chance if you know your left from your right.” she added.

Lamisi who sings in the Kusaal language which is spoken primarily in the Northern Region is currently promoting her new song ‘The way you control’.
