The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has arrested four (4) civilians imposing as personnel of the service at various locations in the country.

The arrest of the four was done between Tuesday, May 5, and  May, 12 2020.

Two of them were arrested at Katamanso, in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 by the Armed Forces patrol team.

The first suspect arrested at Kpone-Katamanso claimed to be a Rating at the Naval Base,Tema identified himself as AB1 Arhen Ebenezer.

In a statement released by GAF, it stated that he was sent to the Eastern Naval Command for identification which proved false.

He was later handed over to Tema Regional Police Command for further investigation.

Further interrogation of the suspect led to the arrest of one Mustapha Maurris, another imposter, according to the statement.

On Tuesday May 12, a 32- year old man, Stephen Zubbuy Matsi, was arrested in Pokuasi posing as a soldier.

Oscar Ehun was also arrested on Friday, May 8 by the Naval intelligence operations of the Western Naval Command at Inchaban in Sekondi-Takoradi for posing as a military officer.

The Ghana Armed Forces made this known in a statement signed by Squadron Leader R. Omanye-Agyei for Director of GAF PR Directorate.
