Ghanaians Descend Heavily On Akufo-Addo After Announcing That The ‘Affordable’ VW Vehicles Are Assembled In Ghana(Screenshots)

President Nana Akufo-Addo has come under scrutiny after he announced on his social media handle that the affordable VW cars are assembled in Ghana.

In a post sighted by, Nana Akufo-Addo revealed that the government is creating the enabling environment for VW Group to be able to assemble its vehicles in Ghana.

He added that the aforementioned was part of his promises he made and he has fulfilled it.

Nana Akufo-Addo posted photos of the vehicles on his social media handle with its ‘affordable’ price attached to it and captioned it:

We created the enabling environment for @VWGroup

to be able to assemble its vehicles in Ghana. Today, affordable VW vehicles are assembled right here in Ghana. A promise made, a promised fulfilled. #4MoreForNana #4MoreToDoMoreForYou”

However, the post by the president did not go down well with Ghanaians as they descended heavily on him.

Many netizens opined that the average Ghanaian cannot afford the VW Vehicles he claimed are affordable adding that he has never promoted made in Ghana vehicles but is quick to promote a foreign manufacturer of vehicles.

Some Ghanaians lambasted him for ignoring road projects to focus on making of ‘affordable’ vehicles to Ghanaians.

  1. Sometimes I think the politics is just much. I believe it is our brothers and sisters that are going to be working in that assembling plant so let’s stop this.

    Kantanka daughter is procurement Minister, I have seen his cars being used Gov. Yes Gv must be promoting made in Ghana but companies must also push their own agendas. God help those who help themselves.
