Ghanaian musician, comedian and social media Commentator A Plus has hit back at critics for labelling his music career as ‘dead’.

The once formidable force in the music scene has now ventured into active politics which has made many fingered that he is into politics because his music career is dead.

Reacting to such claims, the hiplife artiste took to his micro-blogging website to disclose that his kind of music is for a certain class of people and not for drunkards who want to dance their lives away.

The ‘Freedom of speech’ hitmaker has thrown shade at the current crop of musicians who aim at recording danceable tunes to keep in line with current trends.

However, A plus has stated emphatically that, his music is not one of the noisy songs that are making waves in the music scene currently.

The controversial musician took to his Instagram page to share a video of one of his ‘songs for development’ and with caption:

“I released this song when I was just a “child.” What do they want me to prove again koraaa ah!!! I make music for a certain class of people. Not drunk people who want to dance their lives away”

A Plus shot to fame when he released his controversial song dubbed ‘Freedom of Speech’ right before the 2000 elections in Ghana.

The hit song ‘Mesuro mpo na merekeka yi’ talked about how he was afraid of what he was saying but was still saying it in the light of democracy as he lambasted politicians.

A Plus whose real name is Kwame Asare Obeng surfaced in the music scene with a different style in the hiplife landscape.
