It’s not easy commercializing Gospel music in Ghana – Jeshurun Okyere

Renowned Gospel singer Jeshurun Okyere says commercializing gospel music in our part of the world is cumbersome.

According to Jeshurun, unlike secular music which applying business methodology to make profit is quite easy and simple, gospel music is different.

Interacting with Sokoohemaa on Rainbow Radio Thursday, he said Ghanaian gospel musicians are unable to commercialize gospel music because it is priceless.

He said, event organizers and music lovers in the country get fed-up and sometimes blacklist ministers who try to make a living out of their songs by charging for shows.

This situation makes full time Ghanaian gospel musicians find it very difficult to make ends meet.

Jeshurun mentioned that unless one is blessed and highly favored making gospel music can be headache since they don’t get any financial gains.

Talking about other challenge facing the gospel music fraternity in Ghana he indicated that church members and Christians in general are stingy – they hardly sow into their ministry.

He said this is because they do not understand the concept of giving and it is worrying.

He divulge Christians in Nigeria are generous and kind, they always support the work of God with their money.

The sensational gospel musician recounted how a Nigerian sowed a seed in his life when he visited the Western Africa country to perform.
