Kennedy Agyapong to quit politics ?

The outspoken Member of Parliament(MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has hinted on taking a long break away from parliament to concentrate on his businesses which brings him more revenue.

According to the controversial Politician, he might retire from active politics due to the pressure mounting on him.

When quizzed by the host of the show on Adom TV if he aspires to be a speaker of Parliament, he responded by saying that he is not ready to be a Speaker of parliament because such position is full of pressure.

“ No!. I want better work to go and do and relax and you are talking about being a speaker. Speaker, they worry you everyday…I am not ready” he said.

When pushed further by the host of the show, Omanhehene Kwabena Asante to admit whether he would like to be a majority or minority leader, he repudiated
“What do I want it for. Young man, you want me to speak but I won’t say anything. I am doing my business and you say what? I have no interest in anything at all…business is my focus”, he disclosed in an interview on Adom TV, monitored by BrownGH.com.

The New Patriotic Party’s guru who has spent 19 years in parliament disclosed some of his achievements since he became MP for Assin-central.

He indicated that he has done exceedingly well in education with his consistuency and he recounted how difficullt it was to get people who could read and write.

He opined that his priority as an MP was to build schools, award scholarships among other educational projects.

According to him, his effort has really paid off because his constituency boasts of hundreds of university graduates.

“Upon assumption, I realized education was low.U nder Kufuor era we needed drivers with English and Mathematics we could only get one. I made it a priority and put up school buildings and scholarship because was difficult to get university graduates but now you can see the number of schools and hospitals I have put up in the area as well hundreds of university graduates”, he disclosed.
