The Electoral Commission (EC) is said to commence the 2020 New Voters’ Registration Exercise which has generated alot of controversies at the end of June.
The Commission as part of their sensitization campaign, outlined measures that would be put in place at various registration centres to prevent contraction of the virus in the course of registration.
The EC shared a poster which outlined safety measures people had to observed which include, wearing of nose masks, checking of temperature, social distancing, hand washing and the use of hand sanitizer.
According to sources, the registration would be conducted at 33,367 registration centres and scheduled to be completed between 30 and 40 days.
The register would be used for the December 7, Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
The source emphasized that the EC would put necessary measures in place by providing conducive atmosphere and safeguard stakeholders from the virus.
