A piece of sad news available to Ghana’s most comprehensive news portal, browngh.com has it that a pregnant woman identified as Mrs. Opeoluwa Waidat Adedeji who is also a mother of six has died as she was being delayed by some police officers at the Sowore River checkpoint for defying COVID-19 measures.

Reports say that the deceased was on her way to the hospital for delivery on a motorbike when they were stopped by these officers which they inquired to know why they flouted the social distancing order and also why they have refused to put on nose masks.

The officers delayed the pregnant woman in labor along with the other two men accompanying her to the hospital but they later allowed them to go upon realizing that the woman was bleeding profusely.

Sadly, the woman in labor passed away before getting to the hospital.

However, angry youths stormed the Abigi Police Headquarters blaming the officers for the death of Mrs. Opeoluwa after they delayed her delivery at the checkpoint.
