The trained nurse cum musician intimated that if not for what the late Ebony stood for, she wouldn’t have been where she is today.
She revealed that she got her inspiration from Ebony as she singled handedly proved a point as a female and she developed love for her because of the passion Ebony had for her music.
“Ebony stood for Afrobeats, she was herself and did what she loved. That inspired me and I fell in love with her. I had wanted to meet her but unfortunately, she passed on. I was and I’m still a fan of Ebony,” she stated.
Rufftown Records is one label that has been able to make stars out of artistes they sign in a short time and Wendy Shay attributes it all to God.
“We are under the shelter of God, we do not joke with the God factor under this label and so I believe that is part of the reasons we are who we are.

Talking about her financial standing now Wendy said it was better.
“My status now is really better. I recall when our house got burnt, if I was not Wendy Shay, I’m wondering how I would have been able to survive or help my mom and brother get a roof over their heads,” she disclosed.
