There were reports a few hours ago that the Rent Control Department Office at Amasaman had been locked up by the landlord for non-payment of rent arrears.

However, the Rent Control Department under the auspices of the Ministry of Works and Housing has released a statement that refuted reports that their Amasaman Office has been locked up by the landlord over non-payment of rent arrears.

The Rent Control Department further indicated that there is no iota of truth in the rumours circulating.

The government firm claimed that none of their offices have been locked up and neither do they know any landlord bearing the name Joseph Nsiah Abugri.

The Rent Control stated that such rumours are being circulated to paint the department in a negative light.
