Following the brawl between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards on Saturday, Organizers for the Awards has affirmed that, security breaches at the ceremony played a role in what happened on stage.
At the event, dancehall artiste Stonebwoy was called unto the stage to pick an Award which he won over his main rival, however, while he was on stage, his main rival and his fans rushed onto the stage without his name being mentioned.
As soon as they mount the stage in a hasty way, Stonebwoy manager, Black Cedi punched them, and then Stonebwoy also took a gun from his body guard which brought panic and fear disrupting the Award organization.
After their cantankerous act on stage several celebrities left the program, and then on Sunday police arrested both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale for their actions on the stage.
Meanwhile, Organizers of the Awards in a press statement condemned both artistes for the commotion that tainted the image of Ghana music internationally.
Now the Chief Executive Officer for the Awards Theresa Ayoade in a recent interview with TV3 and monitored by Browngh.com, she said, “Shatta Wale did not use the right entrance which was meant for all the nominees, he used the backdoor,”
Mrs. Theresa Ayeode added that, her outfit “reserved a seat for Shatta Wale, but he decided to sit with his fans, that were what the security breach,” she said.
Both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were granted a bail yesterday, but media report reveals that, they will be invited on Tuesday morning to assist the police in their investigations.
