Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known as Stonebwoy has not ruled out a move into politics and has joked that he might be tough enough to take the rough and tumble that comes with it.
The reggae and dancehall artist said he would gladly grab the opportunity to serve the people.
He stated that his career as a musician puts him on the spot because he is “serving the people directly or indirectly through songs.”
Mentioning Nigerian actor Banky W, Uganda musician Bobby Wine who later became politicians and Ghanaian actor cum politician, John Dumelo, as his inspiration, Stonebwoy said he can venture into politics.
He told Andy Dosty on Hitz 103.9FM’s Daybreak Hitz on Thursday that “we are messengers for the people already. We have to serve the people.”
The ‘Top Skanka’ hit singer urged his colleagues to aspire to form part of the decision making process because it will help to implement decisions to aid artistes in Ghana’s music sphere.
Already, actress Yvonne Nelson has said she would be considering venturing into politics in the near future.
According to the convener for “Dumsor Must Stop” campaign, she believes if she starts from Dansoman where she has lived most of her life, she will be able to convince the people of the suburb of Accra to get their votes.
