Two residents of Adabraka are in the grips of Accra Regional Police Command for vandalizing a police station in the area.
The two forms part of angry mob that stormed the police station on Wednesday after a man being chased by the police fell and drown in the Odaw River.
Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP Frederick Adu Anim speaking in an interview with Citi News said, the police are still investigating the incident.
“We are investigating this. We will give subsequent updates.”
“No he [the deceased] was not chased by police officers. The place is a hideout for criminals so no police officer could go there and make an arrest.”
According to the Assembly man for the area, Hendrick Noble Jinnah, he heard the incident on Wednesday evening. He added that some residents in the area were accusing the police for causing the death.
The Assembly man said, he first went to the police station where he saw a police man been assaulted.
