Two young spiritualists were nearly killed by an angry mob in Penyi, a suburb in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region after they allegedly prevented rain from falling in the community.
Reports say that the two were believed to have performed some rituals in their shrine which prevented rain from falling causing damages to crops inflicting heavy blows on farmers.
Residents complained that there hasn’t been a single drop of rain for some moths now despite the cloudiness of the weather.
Leaders of the town consulted the gods and it was revealed that these two young spiritualists were the cause of the problem by their chief priest.
Residents upon hearing this, launched an attack on the two spiritualist where they nabbed them in their shrine.
Upon receiving severe beatings from the angry residents, the two confessed to their evil deeds disclosing that they have been doing it for quite a very long time now.
The police in Penyi township had to intervene to rescue the spiritualists from the angry mob.
However, residents are wondering if the police will investigate this case since its a spiritual one or they are just going to allow them to scout free.
