Until Ghana Health Service Gives The Go Ahead, Schools Won’t Be Suspended – GES Chair


Following the spike of covid-19 in Ghana especially in the various secondary schools, parents and students have started lobbying for school closure to secure lives.

Responding to the claims, chaiman of Ghana Education Service has stated that its too early to suspend schools.

According to him in An interview with Alfred Ocansey of 3FM fame, until GES receives any news from Ghana Health Service,schools will not be closed or suspended.

Speaking further he said

Recall that the President of NAGRAT ,A gel Carbonu recently called for school closure following the outbreak at Accra Girls Senior High School and some other schools which are yet to be known by the media.

Following the directive of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo that schools should reopen to final year students to enable them write their exit exams, all final year SHS and Form Two Gold Track students returned to school on Monday, June 22.
