Many celebrities who were at the 20th edition of the Ghana Music Awards, had to leave the venue after a brawl broke out between the camps of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
After the fracas which transpired between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale in the wee hours of Sunday, May 19, 2019, at the Accra International Conference Centre [AICC], many Ghanaians including industry persons have shared varied views about the unfortunate incident.
It all started when Stonebwoy won the dancehall artiste of the year and Shatta Wale tried to walk onto the stage to congratulate him.
His attempt was seen as an attack by Stonebwoy’s team which led to them attacking the SM fans and they retaliated and it was a horrible experience.
Stonebwoy then pulled a gun on stage.
Although he has apologized, many people have expressed disappointment in the conduct of the two artists.
Some celebrities took to social media to share the ‘scary’ experience the fracas had caused.
For Actress Lydia Forson, seeing the gun was disgusting and traumatizing at the same time.
She wrote on her Twitter page “You people weren’t there so you don’t get how traumatizing this experience was. Do you know how many tragedies have happened because of stampedes?!”

Actor John Dumelo had revealed he fled the venue upon seeing the gun. John wrote on Twitter “All this gidigidi is not necessary… To be honest, at the end of the day, what’s all the fight for?”
All this gidigidi is not necessary….Both artists have their “boys” on the street but the Ghana police service meet both artists and their boys and talk to them( all together). To be honest, at the end of the day, what’s all the fight for?

For rapper Guru, it was shameful to see the two factions compete between themselves to this point.
