The most prestigious Music Awards scheme in Ghana, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) came off on Friday 28th August 2020 to 29th August 2020 amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The two days for the event were spectacular as the scheme awarded hardworking and most deserving musicians in the year under review.

Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Efya, Strongman, Eno Barony, EL, Medikal among other artistes thrilled patrons at the event.

Some artistes bagged awards at the 21st edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards but some artistes won two awards or more/multiple awards.

Below are the top 6 artists who took home multiple awards.

  1. Kofi Kinaata: The Fante rapper won the most awards at this year’s VGMAs as he bagged 3 awards. He won three awards with his ‘Things Fall Apart’ song that got all the buzz after its release. Kofi Kinaata won the following awards:

-Songwriter of the year-Things Fall Apart

-Highlife Song Of the Year-Things Fall Apart

-Most Popular Song Of The Year-Things Fall Apart

2.Kuami Eugene: The Highlife crooner is the man of the moment as he took home two awards which included the ultimate award at the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). Below are his awards the Lynx Entertainment signee won:

-Artiste Of The Year

-Highlife Artiste of the year (Won 3 times in a row)

3.Dopenation: Music duo DopeNation also won 2 awards at the just held Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).This happens to be the first time the identical twins have won an award at the VGMAs.

-Best Group of the year

-Afrobeats Song Of The Year

4.Sarkodie: Most Decorated Ghanaian artiste Sarkodie didn’t sweep too many awards like the previous years as he faced fierce competition from young talents in his respective categories. However, the Tema-based rapper managed to bag 2 awards at the VGMAs.

He won the following awards:

-Best Collaboration-Ofeetso ft Prince Bright of Buk Bak fame

-International Collaboration of the year-Lucky featuring Rudeboy

5.Medikal: The AMG rapper also won two awards on the night and made history with his wife, Fella Makafui as their ‘Omo Ada’ song won an award; hence becoming the first couple to ever win a VGMA.

6.Celestine Donkor: The outstanding gospel crooner went home with two awards. She won an award on Day 1 of the event and won another yesterday which summed up her prominence in the gospel fraternity in the year under review.
