Students of Gyaama Pensan Senior High Technical School at Aboaso in the Kwabre East District of Ashanti Region have become the talk of Ghana in recent times for their timely innovation to curtail Ghana’s energy crisis.
Thus, the science students of the above-named school have been able to develop a technology that generates electricity from plants and bacteria from soil. This timely innovation was exhibited when they took part in Ghana’s Energy Commission Renewal Energy Challenge.
The students tapped into the natural idea behind photosynthesis and also used soil samples from ponds, farmland and forests to generate the electricity which one can use to charge mobile phones and all other LED appliances.
Following the feat, Realest Blogger of GHBase.Com visited the school on Friday, July 23, 2021, to have a chit-chat with the science tutors as well the very students behind the innovation; Janet Ohemaa Nkansah and Christolove Molgo Arthur.
And from their conversations, they sounded very positive and aiming at the commercialization of the new electrical innovation provided they get the necessary financial support from GES, Ghana Energy Commission, Bui Dam, NGOs, the general public including old students of Gyaama Pensan Senior High Technical School.
