Health officials in Western Region have revealed that they will soon embark on contact tracing and testing in the region as an effort to curtail the spread of Coronavirus.
The contact tracing and testing became necessary after a market woman forms part of the new recorded Covid-19 cases in the region.
The region has recorded nine Coronavirus cases as of Monday, April 27.
Sources at the Western Regional Health Directorate told Empire News that out of the nine cases, six were recorded in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis while the other confirmed cases were recorded in Nzema East Municipality.
According to the source, the new cases recorded has nothing to do with their contact tracing with the case recorded at Shama.
Western region recorded it’s first Covid-19 case two weeks ago from a Chinese national who works with Coastal Quarry Company in Shama.
